I absolutley love this site and am enjoying reading all the great information and the experisnces you have and share.
I have so much to learn about all this and I am looking forward to learning it!

BUT!!!!!!

I found I cant come here late at night after hubby has gone to bed because I get so spooked! lol

I would get done reading about 1 am and then have to go all the way down to one end of the house to make potty and then all the way back to the other end and up the stairs to get to bed turning off the ligths as I go! .

I will walk with my head down and scurry along being sure not to glance at any reflections in the windows as I pass or look in any mirrors!
OMG! OMG! OMG! There might be someone looking back if I do!!!

Sometimes I cant help myself and take a quick glance hoping that there isnt anyone looking back before I make it to the bathroom thankfully there hasnt been or I'd have to change my panties for sure!!! but I just HAVE to see!

I take my little dog with me, carrying her in my arms, she thinks I am nuts but surely she will make a fuss if there are spirits close by right?? Dont tell me if this is wrong or I will have to go to bed before the sun is down and huddle under the blankies for hours before I could fall alseep.

Anyway I have had to stop reading late at night here because I am such a big chicken so I am a bit slow in catching up but I will eventualy!

Heike you mentioned going the Guthrie hospital together and yes I do want to go but be forewarned .... I Scream!!!!!

I cant get hubby to stay awake, 5 minutes on the couch and he is snoring so loud I have to throw things at him lol, Only kidding I wouldnt throw things at him , well not too often anyway.

Aww, Jann! First let me say, that I love your dog!! She is the cutest! And I'm very sure she would alert you to anything unusual...dogs are very sensitive to the paranormal.
I know the feeling you describe very well! I used to get spooked like you and just like you, used to HATE looking into mirrors! I think it was at the time, years ago, when I first heard about Bloody Mary! (we used to scare ourselves silly with that one! ) However, ghosts rarely DO manifest to scare! As a matter of fact, ghosts rarely manifest completely. And if they do, it's because they want to say something or need help. They very rarely want to hurt or harm.
Ghstl8y's idea is a very good one! If you get your hubby to join, then you wouldn't be alone!

Jann, loved this post I am please that you like it here and eventually overcome your night time spooks.
I have to laugh as I also get myself spooked out sometimes, usually when I'm home alone and read something on the scary side. At night, I don't have to venture down the other end of the house in the dark, if I do, it's a quick trip, so you are not alone there. I have also hidden under blankets, as if that is going to protect me
I'm sure your dog will give you a warning if she senses anything, animals are good at that. I use my cats as warning beacons as well, if I think something is around, I always look at them to see if they have reacted
Hope you get to go and see that hospital and that you get some good photos and so what if you scream, it will add to the atmosphere

I do understand that most contacts are not going to harm but it still gets me very frightened, even though the idea of making contact is also very exciting as well.
I hope to some day be able to overcome some of that. I guess I need a lot more exposure to desensitize myself to it.

I do beleive that animals are more sensitive to these things that is why I trust their reactions.
I used to meditate a lot in my younger days and sometimes I would forget to remove my dog from the room, and the dog would get very restless during it. They can definetly sense and feel these things!

LMAO!! After all these years, being a member of all these paranormal sites.. I still do the same exact thing as you!! I CANNOT come to any of these sites when hubby is working nights, or I end up not sleeping ALL night. And I don't even bother running around this big old house to turn the lights off... i prefer them ON when Im spooked. And whenever I have to use the 'john' I wake my big fat lazy dog up, to have him come with me. lmao

Oh Jann, I couldn't stop smiling when I read this! I do exactly the same! I can only come on here at night (don't have time in the day!), and I sometimes regret what I have read but I am too addicted to stop myself!

I have a thing with mirrors! Have always hated looking in them at night in case something spooky is looking back at me (mind you, this does happen often in the morning to me!!) .

Also when my daughter wakes up at night (especially when she's crying) I just hate getting up, my heart is racing and my eyes are to the floor as I don't want to look anywhere in case I see something/someone!!!

Nice to know that I have someone I can relate too in this subject!

Oh Jann, I am so sorry that you get spooked! That is awful, but I am sure that you will realize that its not bad as all that! I myself have been known to high tail it down the hallway, or a dark barn isle...lol It usually only happens to me when I let my mind wander too much, however...

I really enjoy your posts, so please stick around, day or night! Perhaps a bit here and there every night will help you to desensitize yourself...

BTW I have a hubby who is the SAME way! I try not to throw too many things at him....

Oh, the dark isn't so bad! It's our minds we need to get under control! Bad minds! Bad minds! Go sit in the corner and think of something nice!

I think having a blind friend helped me get over fear of the dark. I was amazed at what she could do without vision, and now if I'm in the dark, I just try to think of the room from her point of view. I even made a game of trying find my way around in the dark, find things in my purse without looking (by feel). Gretta was my daughter's first babysitter. Her house was the most babyproof place because she knew where everything was . . . no loose clutter like us seeing folks leave around. Megan even took her first steps, not to me, but to Gretta, who couldn't see them (some irony for you there).

On the other hand, spooky stories will get to anyone!

Is it night where you are now then? It is 8.30 in the morning here, have been up since 6am! I won't be on here tonight though as I am out over my friends house having a girly night in with lots of us eating pizza and chocolate! yum!

Hi Judy, that is a helpful way of looking at it, it is amazing how blind people cope with everyday life.

If I did see anything during that state of mind I wouldnt trust it to be true because I feel that we can often see things when our imaginations are running a muck.
